La josamicina, principio activo del Alplucine ® Polvo soluble es un antibiótico que pertenece a la familia de los macrólidos, activo contra Mycoplasma, Chlamydia y las bacterias Gram-positivas, que posee efecto bactericida cuando se administra en las dosis recomendadas.
Administrado por vía oral, muestra una rápida absorción gastrointestinal, las altas concentraciones que alcanzan el tracto respiratorio y alcanzó un pico de concentración sérica mayor de 1 UI / ml 2 horas después de la administración. El rápidamente metabolizado en el cuerpo, y la mayor parte se elimina por las heces (95%) en forma activa.
